Aerial Operations (Crane Operator) & Tree Haul Maestro (Loader Truck Driver) - Dual Role
This isn't your normal job posting. Can you tell by the job title? We looked through a bunch of comparable jobs and it made us sad. Most of these job listings are "canned" and full of buzzwords. If we were looking for a new job these posts wouldn't excite us. So, here is our attempt to find you... the right person for our team. There is only one of you out there and we are looking forward to meeting you. Please read ahead and follow the instructions or this won't get very far.
As a dual role between Aerial Operation (Crane Operator) and Tree Hauling (Loader Truck Driver), your day will depend on the needs of the operation that day. Below is an outline of your day as a crane operator. As a loader truck driver, you will be driving a Class B truck from site to site, loading cut trees in the back and bringing them to be chipped at a local depot.
Perform a pre-trip inspection, including checking the oil, transmission fluid, tires and lights, ensuring the vehicle is clean and leak free.
Arrive at the job site, properly set up the crane, and establish 3-way communication.
Operate the crane safely, performing tasks such as branch and tree removal, while working in various weather conditions.
Take a break to rest and eat.
Continue crane operations and collaborate with the team for efficient workflow until the job is complete.
Complete daily logs and maintenance reports, and ensure adherence to safety protocols and guidelines. End your day performing daily maintenance, including cleaning the air filter, greasing the crane and fueling it up to be ready for the next day’s work.
